The John C. Stennis Space Center is a rocket engine testing facility located in Southwest Mississippi. Navy tenants include: Special Boat Team 22, Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School, Naval Meteorology & Oceanography Command, Naval Oceanographic Office and the U.S. Naval Research Lab (NRL). This unique concentration of operational and research oceanographers makes SSC the center of naval oceanography and the largest such grouping in the world.
